Conserving Lake Wamala threatened by local politics and poor fishing practices

Lake Wamala is a large, shallow freshwater lake in the Lake Victoria Basin. The lake has been continuously shrinking since 1995, primarily due to its role as the primary means of livelihood for thousands of people living around it. The disappearance of the lake has also been attributed to rapid population growth, poor fishing practices, and local politics. We have a report on how nighttime fishing has brought life back to the lake.
