Uganda is set to make wildlife history as the Uganda Wildlife Authority prepares to return white rhinos to their ancestral home in Ajai Wildlife Reserve, decades after their disappearance. The landmark trans location from Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, slated for October 22, 2025 follows extensive habitat restoration, including the reintroduction of kobs and buffaloes to tame overgrown vegetation, alongside ongoing community engagement and land compensation efforts aimed at turning the reserve into a tourism and conversation powerhouse.
